She addressed the mistreatment of people in detention, racial profiling by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the urgent need for accountability and humane policies. As an educator she shared how her lived experience helps her better understand the fears, struggles, and resilience of immigrant families throughout Florida — and why that perspective matters in leadership.
