Donald Goes to Trump Country North Carolina, Finds His Popularity Plummeting
By Chance Meeting
On December 19th, Donald Trump traveled to Rocky Mount, North Carolina - what many consider to be one of Trump’s most loyal towns in the Tarheel State. The corrupt and increasingly unpopular commander-in-chief came to speak in support of GOP US Senate candidate Michael Whatley.
Owl Media traveled to Rocky Mount to capture the impromptu protest that happened outside of the Rocky Mount Event center.
The first protestor to show up was combat veteran Will Kelly who goes by Dawoke Farmer on social media. Throughout the year as a political dissident, Will garnered a large following for himself of over 150,000 people.
That was, until the day of this particular protest when his Instagram account was unceremoniously and peculiarly deleted. In between protesting, Will lost all of his followers and his library of content without a means to appeal Meta’s sudden erasure.
Still, Will showed he would not be silenced. He led the beginning of the protest with conviction and a bullhorn, lobbing criticism at the thin crowd of Trump supporters that lined up outside the event center.
“I thought we were in Trump country. I thought the crowds would be bigger,” he said.

Among the group of protestors were organizations like The Sons of Liberty, American Opposition, The Handmaids, 50501NC, Fayetteville Resistance Coalition and more. People came from across the state to make their presence known and voice their disdain at the President, his blindly loyal fans, and the inhumane and fascist policies they have instituted.
Many of the protestors registered for the event so they could infiltrate and capture moments from the speech. One of them was Big Sarge, leader of the Sons Of Liberty, a group of combat veterans turned political dissidents.
Though, when he tried to enter the event space, he was recognized and turned away at the door.
“As soon as I walk inside,” Big Sarge told us. “This guy that I’ve never seen before stops me… before I even make it through the metal detector he goes, ‘what’s up Big Sarge, you’re not gonna be able to come in, you’ve been uninvited.”
As the day grew dark and the temperature dropped, more protestors and more Trump supporters showed up with a constant stream of insults and accusations lobbed back and forth between the groups.
The crowd of red hat and red shirt wearing MAGA members was limited until buses and sprinter vans started pulling up, one after another, dropping off groups of people to pad out the audience inside.
While the heavily redacted Epstein files were being released in violation of the legal order for transparency, the man most implicated who has repeatedly called the very real documents a “Democrat hoax”, showed up to speak at the venue an hour later than he was initially scheduled.
Our photographer MattWagnerSub was able to make it inside the venue and captured Trump as he gave his address to his loyal North Carolina constituents and whoever he brought in from elsewhere to compensate for his waning popularity.

just an ordinary person who traveled hours to be there in person, and i can vouch for every word about the pitiful crowd size and the bussed-in 'attendees'..."Shame" was one loud and frequent chant.
