Growing Momentum at Week 24 Interfaith Vigil Outside “Alligator Alcatraz”

We were on the ground during Week 24 of the interfaith Sunday vigil at Alligator Alcatraz, where a noticeably larger crowd gathered in solidarity.

Throughout the vigil, community members shared powerful and emotional testimonies about family members who remain in detention, speaking to the pain of separation and the ongoing impact of these policies on their lives.

Faith leaders, advocates, and attendees from different backgrounds came together in prayer, reflection, and resistance, underscoring the growing momentum of the weekly vigil. The increased turnout reflected a deepening sense of urgency, as more people continue to show up to listen, bear witness, and demand dignity, accountability, and justice for those detained.
