Why November 20-22 Could Be When America Wakes Up
By Nelly Rubio
You can feel it. A deep sense of hopelessness that has spread across the country. People are exhausted, not just from politics but from pretending life is anywhere near normal. For months, we've watched our country decline in real time. We've seen laws bent by the most unconstitutional President in United States history.
We've watched the system fail us time and time again.
A New Movement
On November 20-22, thousands of Americans are expected to flood Washington DC, for a peaceful protest called "Remove the Regime." The goal? To demand that Donald Trump - whose return to power has thrown the nation into chaos - be impeached, convicted, and removed.
Over the past 11 months figures like Jessica Denson, Carlos Alvarez-Aranyos, and Cliff Cash, have worked tirelessly, inspiring thousands to join their mission to save our country while helping to build the coalitions necessary to do so. They have worked closely with F.L.A.R.E, a grassroots organization that has had 24/7 presence at Union Station since May 1st of this year. A group largely focused on everyday targeted protests and lobbying congress with groups of concerned citizens.
They've also spent much time working with and amplifying the voices of veterans who understand the sacred oath to the Constitution and are tired of watching it dishonored everyday by this administration. Veterans like Jolly Good Ginger, USMCAngry Veteran, USArmyOverlord, Big Sarge from the Sons of Liberty, and Sgt Rhodes - a US Marine Corps combat veteran known for his stern look and having attended 57 protests since March and counting. They are rallying everyday Americans to stand with them in Washington DC.

Remove the Regime has a mission statement made very clear in the first paragraph of their webpage :
"We the People mean business. Our presence is our power, and this time we're showing up with firm demands and intend to change history. Remove the Regime is the moment we've been waiting for."
The events that take place from the 20th - 22nd will include the largest civilian congressional lobbying moment in history, marches, targeted protests, mutual aid, performances from comedians like Cliff Cash and musical acts like Dropkick Murphy's and Earth to Eve, speeches from prominent speakers within the movement, members of congress and upcoming congressional candidates. People are traveling from all over the country to be a part of this historic moment.
This isn't just about one man. It's about whether we still believe that democracy belongs to the people, or if we've already given it up. It's about all of us.
The Power of Showing Up
We live in a country where too many people have been convinced that protests no longer matter. That the powerful don't listen. That "nothing will change." That lie only works if we believe it.
Showing up physically and visibly together is how ordinary people remind the world that power still flows upward, not down. Every movement we now take for granted, like civil rights, women's suffrage, and labor protections, were once dismissed as "long shots." Dismissed until the people showed up anyway.
"Remove the Regime" has depended mainly on word of mouth and late-night organizing calls. Remember, actual change rarely starts on cable news; it begins quietly with people who are tired of waiting for others to fix things.
This Isn't Just Politics
America feels pretty fragile right now. Families fractured over human rights framed as politics, where the truth gets twisted by those who benefit from the manufactured division. It's easy just to tune out and forget, but ignoring the problems is how democracy slowly falls apart. It doesn't happen overnight, it happens gradually, as people stop paying attention.
You don't have to agree with every chant or every sign.
Just being there matters. Because silence looks like consent, and right now, silence is the one thing this country can't afford.
History Only Remembers the Brave
One day, people will ask what we did when democracy was falling apart. They'll ask who spoke, who marched, and who believed enough to act.
You don't have to be a politician or an activist. You just have to be there.
Because when enough of us show up, when we remind those in power that we're still watching, that's when the course of history shifts.
So pack a sign. Bring a friend. Stand in the cold if you have to. Because November 20-22 isn't just another protest, it's a test of whether the people still own their democracy.
