January 4th 2026 Outside the Alligator Alcatraz ICE detention center during Sunday vigil week 23 Reverend Arthur Jones Ill condemned the inhumane conditions faced by detainees-people held for weeks or months without charges, denied contact with their families or legal counsel.
Standing on land taken unjustly from the Miccosukee Tribe, he called the facility's existence immoral and unholy, reminding the crowd that any one of us could be behind those walls.
Despite rain, mud, and hostility from passersby, the message was clear: keep showing up, stay in solidarity, and continue the fight for justice until freedom is won.
