On March 28th during the No Kings protest in Austin, Texas, we spoke with Sophia Mirto, an Austin-based activist and political organizer.
As the president and lead organizer of Hands Off Central Texas, she shared insight into how the event came together and the grassroots effort behind it. She also talked about her ongoing work defending local democracy, judicial integrity, and civil rights in her community.
From organizing on the ground to amplifying voices, her work reflects the power of sustained local action.
